Chaos Zakum on 6/12/11

First of all, many thanks to Pola for helping out to organise the the CZAK during my absence for the 1st round due to some internet connection. Once again, grats to those who have been helmed. Pls submit your ign early for the 2nd helm queue. You can choose to rehelm yr current character if you feel like doing so. You can also choose to sell or sok to your friend if you like. However, pls note that no other guild member outside the current batch will be allowed to join the batch unless green light has been given. If you would like to take the helm for your friend, you can either log in your friend's character perhaps sok to him. For safety concern, no outsiders will be allowed to enter the expedition with us to loot the guest helm or vip helm. Thank you very muchie =D An update on the current zakum queue list. After some smooth runs, we experienced a bit of a rocky trip. To avoid the same things from happening again, lets go through some important pointers together and some new measures have been drawn:-

1) Pls remember to get ready your quest items and standby at 1130pm to be prepared to be added into party.

2) Bishops will start to door at 1145pm. After ensuring that you have nothing else to transfer, bishops will door you over to the Peak whereby you can proceed to enter the map: Entrance to Horntail Cave. Party leaders will bring in individual party members into the Cave2.

3) Listen to entry order carefully and party leaders are to monitor if there are any party members who happen to dc while entering the cave.

4) While inside the pre- trial cave, do not move yet.

We will clearing the badges quests needed for a party leader to bring in the party to the 2nd cave next week. Thus, those who want to clear the quests can proceed to stay behind after the horntail.

Horntail 3rd & 4th Batch Update

Congrats to everyone once again. We seemed to get better.. and thanks to everyone for a job well done!

* Just to update that after some considerations, the member who is supposed to collect his neck/egg will still be entitled to the a share from the sale of drops. This is to encourage more fun and reward for the effort put into the guild batch.

** Organiser will have priority in the 1st run to pick a satisfactory neck for sale before 'releasing' the remaining necks for members to loot. As there could be up to 4-6 spare ht necks each week, members can pm me in game if they wish to loot the spare clean neck(if any left) prior to the run. If there is an overwhelming requests for clean necks, a queue will be considered. If there are no takers for the remaining necks, they shall be 'free for all'.

Congrats on downing our first guild Horntail! Although there were a few hiccups, but its a good job done everyone! Pity we got too many dced in the 2nd run, thus there were no drops as it is a rule that there must be at least 10 people in cave when horntail is down.

Draconqiue Horntail Batch 1200am Sunday Morning(Saturday night)

Hi guys, glad to present to you some guides and pointers for the upcoming guild horntail this coming Saturday at 12am midnight. (Sunday morning).

Some rules first of all :
1) As Mw20/30 is no longer guaranteed in horntails, there shall be no queue for the skill book. Every secret mastery book which turns out to be mw20 or 30(if it still drops) will be sold and shared accordingly.

2) Members will get to queue for a neck and egg for 1 round per week. The other round's neck and egg will be taken to be sold by the organiser.

3) During the last arm, please prepare your awakening.
NO ONE IS TO COME DOWN UNTIL THE ORGANISER SAYS "CLEAR". Whoever caught, your queue will be dropped accordingly.

4) Please remove your pet during the last arm to prevent any accidental looting.

5) All members are to be at The Peak of the Big Nest by 1130pm.

6) Please give your best concentration and listen to instructions.

7) In the event where your character has tombed, do not revive first or self wheel without instructions. Wait for the cue to revive or wheel.

8) Please do try to inform in advance if you are unable to attend.

9) Mesos will be deducted for every sok used for sales (may be changed, depending on the market rate)


Horntail Guide

Prequest: Secret Medicine Transformation Quest(click here for direct link)
Remember , do not complete quest at Moira until you are about to enter Horntail Cave.
After you have changed into a Cornian and about to enter the Horntail Cave, do not go to cash shop or the previous map. You will change back into a human and will have to redo your quest. As you can only activate the quest again after an hour, it is kiss goodbye and can only look forward to next week. =D

A simple run through :

Boss info: The Horntail fight occurs in three stages, though the third stage consists of many parts of its own. The first two stages are the preliminary heads, pretty easy honestly though stage two is irritating for warriors. The third part is the real thing, far far harder than the prelims. As this is a major boss the guide will be split into various segments, starting with pre-stage one.

The main body is comprised of several parts, which need to be defeated in a certain order. The first part is the legs, which have rather high touch damage and two kinds of stomp. The first kind is a super knock back attack, the second type is a stun attack. They both deal the same damage. around 7700 unbuffed and 9800 buffed.(both damage have been nerfed after big bang)

Second part is the tail, which has an absolutely insane touch damage when buffed it also has a poison gas attack, which honestly you can just ignore.

Third part is the wings, which summon cornians occasionally, but the main worry about this part is the attack buff it gives every other part. Once the wings die, its fairly smooth for the rest of the fight.

Third and Fourth parts are the left/right heads, completely identical to the preliminary heads, minus the super knockback.

Fifth part is the middle head, almost identical to the left and right ones except with more HP. It also casts full map dispel at 50% HP.

Sixth and Seventh parts are the left and right arms. These will cast status effects throughout the whole fight, but their more annoying trait is the mana burn skill. Which deals 1 damage, but burns around 2000 MP. They also cast mass seduce at 50% HP, which seduces the first 10 people to enter the cave. (Bring more mana)

Pointers to remember:
Remember that black wvyerns cast dispel!
Bring more mana, especially mana pills
Bring more all cure pots
Bring about 3-4 wheels and more if you are prone to dying(due to low hp, laggy com etc)

Before you even enter the cave, entry order as follows:

Seduce Mule (Usually a shadower or warrior.)
Back up seduce mules (Shad/warriors)
Warriors
Mages (NOT Bishops)
Attacker classes
Bishops

The Fight!

Stage One

Horntails Left Head: 330,000,000

Minimum HP: 5500.

Upon entry, DO NOT MOVE, wait until everyone has entered. The seduce mule will go right and hang on the rope. At this cue, Horntail will arise from its shiny blue cave. This stage is honestly a joke, just keep hitting ’til it dies.

All this head will do is weapon/magic defence up, summon wyverns (infrequent) and do its super knockback breath attack. About the only thing to watch out for is the black wyverns which will cast dispel.

Stage two.

Horntails Right Head: 330,000,000

Minimum HP: 5500.

Basically identical to stage one, except the heads on the other side. This stage is more irritating for melee classes, especially warriors as the rush trick wont work here. The seduce mule should hang near the top of the rope closest to entry, you’ll likely fall off a couple of times though. Simply call out “sed” to inform your bishops when you are seduced. Isn’t a big worry at this stage though.

Stage three. (1)

Horntails Legs: 130,000,000
Horntails Tail: 70,000,000

Range parties will have to go up to the top platform if your hp is not enough to tank the leg stomp until leg is down. Seduce bishop will have to follow the seducer and seducer will have to shout HELPPPPPPPPP >>>>>>>>>>>>; or HELPPPPPPPPPP<<<<<<<<<<<<; to indicate the direction being seduced.

Stage three. (2)

Horntails Wings: 270,000,000
Horntails Right Hand: 230,000,000

Once the right hand is 50% left in HP, it will cast mass seduce on the first ten who entered. Bishop is to follow closely as there might be another cast of reducing your hp and mp to 1. Seduced personnel are to quickly sound out once being seduced and also to remember the direction where you are being seduced.

Stage three. (3)

Horntails Right Head: 330,000,000

For dks, they are able to hit both the right and the middle head at the same time.

Stage three. (4)

Horntails Left Head: 330,000,000

Horntails Middle Head: 490,000,000


Stage three. (5)
Head will cast dispel once it is 50% of its HP randomly..

Stage three. (6)
Horntails Right Hand: 230,000,000

Again, once it reaches 50% in hp, it will cast mass seduce. However, other than that it is time to relax a bit as there is no other damage being given.
